Autumn appreciation.

The nights are drawing in and it’s getting colder which means Autumn has well and truly arrived… and I absolutely love it! There is something so idyllic about being cosy and this is the time to embrace it.

Picture the scene. Your Yankee candle is burning away as you snuggle up with a blanket and hot chocolate whilst watching Strictly Come Dancing. Utter bliss!

It’s the time of year for boots and huge scarves, which look good on everyone. Apparently, now it’s actually fashionable to wear a blanket outside as a jacket. We are living the dream here! Thick tights, berry lips, The Big Coat. Autumn is so satisfying.

I’m interested to see how Little Knight handles bonfire night. We go to our church bonfire event every year so it’s low key and relaxed. We took her last year and she slept through the whole thing so this time  we’ll see what she thinks of fireworks. I think having zero expectations is our best plan, if she hates them and cries it doesn’t matter, we can just bring her home and try again next year!

Fresh autumn days where the sun is out but there is a slight chill in the air are my favourite. Little Knight loves playing in the crispy fallen leaves and collecting conkers. Her excitement is contagious and it means shes getting some exercise in the fresh air and it doesn’t cost us a penny. Win win.

Also, is it too soon to be excited for Christmas? I feel like it’s just around the corner and I cannot wait! So far we’ve been alternating our Christmas’ between mine and Mr Knights family and this year we’re at mine. It feels like I’m going home and I’m so excited. Plus Little Knight is so much more aware of everything now which makes it so special. I’m looking forward to some quality family time, I’m such a home body!

So for the next couple of months we’ll be wrapping up in our cosy jumpers, writing our Christmas lists and (possibly) enjoying some fireworks. What’s your favourite thing about this time of year?

Thanks for reading,

Knight Mummy x
